A delicious, creamy but vegan smoothie that contains your good fats needed for optimal fat burning and metabolism efficiency. (Fat is not the enemy! Bad fats are the enemy, but good fats in moderation, like the ones in raw nuts and coconut oil are beneficial and needed for the brain, heart, colon, and metabolism.)
1 red apple, cut into chunks
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup walnuts
1 tsp raw coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
Sea salt
Natural sweetener of choice
3 cups of water (add a little more water if a thinner consistency is desired)
1 cup of ice
Blend till creamy and enjoy.
Tip: Always add liquids first to avoid foods and powders sticking to bottom of blender.
Tip: You can freeze your apples, too. Core and cut them in 4’s. Store in ziplock bag or glass container in freezer, alongside your bananas. Always have them stocked up in freezer for your smoothies on the go.
Variations:
